Ok fellas so here’s the deal me and SWMBO aka the Wife are building a house one of the bedrooms has been designated for me for my addiction......errr hobby So “I’M Getting a New reloading room!” The problem is I have to wait till we close on the house to move into my new Mancave aka the Bunker! So I’m going nuts over here because I can’t load anything! We are getting close to being done which means it’s gotten worse the waiting that is I’ll show y’all some pics when it’s up and running
Congrats Moving is a big deal. But having your own reloading room is great. Hang in there it’ll be worth it. Btw, I have a Lee hand press that I use to deprime and a hand primer to prime off press with. If you have anything like these maybe you can do some brass prep while you wait.
Good for you. Someone told me the wait makes it all the better...maybe so, but it still isn't very much fun when those little nuggets are just begging you to load them. LOL
Sometimes it's nice to be able to start again and improve some of the things that didn't work quite right. We will be waiting for pictures. And congratulations on the new house too.
The wait is difficult. I fully understand. My wife had a health issue in September which stopped everything. She recovered in November. In December our rent was going up to $1480 a month. From there ir was time to buy a house. Bought and moved in may. I will have a bedroom dedicated ac the gun room but buying a 150k home has had me swinging a hammer, doing sheetrock, building shelving, etc. Since move in. I haven't burned one grain of powder since September. Just typing that sentence makes me want to scoop out a case full and strike a match to it...lol As they say, it will all be worth it....
All that owning a house does is eat into your hobby time. I used to shoot every Saturday morning. Then we bought a house... 3 years and 2 children later I average 50 rounds a month and I just have to step outside to do it.
Update y’all we Passed the final inspection so now we go to the bank and finish the paperwork so I can then Make my MANCAVE!!!!!!
Congrats on the house. My thoughts on the afterlife : When bad people die, they go to Hell. It's not really different than here, but they have to move every weekend.
One of the best things I ever did was purchase a house. Turning one of the bedrooms into a reloading room was the next best thing.
My wife and I just purchased a new home. I have my choice of two rooms in the basement for the same problem. My problem was what to do with all my stuff in my current house so we can put it on the market. Not as easy as it seems. Pounds of bullets, ammo, brass, presses, not to mention firearms and accessories. Working that now. We should close in another two to three weeks. I feel your anticipation.
NEW MANCAVE......... Congrats brother, you will have a blast and the wait will only make it better. I helped a family member finish a man cave/walk in vault this summer. we have been working on it for over a year. Despite the work,$ and wait it was totally worth it. I hope you get many years of enjoyment!
Update y’all with Pics So we agreed that I should put something down on the floors Menards had this indoor/outdoor carpet for cheap so I went with that the little metal rack was a freebie from a friend so it’s a start!
Nice! And it looks to have a closet and a great view, too! A big project table, some bright overhead lighting and recliner, and no one would see me for days... Cool, @horsemen61, very cool.
Just be careful or the hoarding trolls will fill all available space to make the complete room unusable for reloading. Do not ask how I know this!!
I was going to add, do a lot of thinking and planning BEFORE moving stuff in. It is harder to rearrange with the room full. Wall mounted shelves are very useful, depending on how many calibers you have. And a solid bench for the press. A separate place or suitable container for the powder and primers - which must be separate. Congratulations and the best of the future!
SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) I loved the reference and as you are now seeing good things come to those who wait. Enjoy! Ron
