Sorry, had to let it out. My family tells me to shut up every time I mention "rifle".
The pre 64 Model 70. This completes the trifecta of dream rifles that I would be proud and humbled to own during my lifetime.

And it's on it's way!

*HIGHPOWER- I didn't see your post about your new Winchester in my own foolish frenzy, but congratulations to you. One beautiful find. I can't wait for some range reports!

We won't tell you to "Shut-up!" We'll encourage the reflections. Make with the photos when it arrives. Until then, make with the details!

Pictures!

I swear, I have been blowing up the online images of this rifle to the most minute pixle size for weeks. It's a standard grade, 30.06, Weaver K4 scope and made in 1950. I've been stalking them for ages, but only the standard version was in my price range, but when I saw the steel tube Weaver K4...it was meant to be.

I have been interacting with this dealer for a few months, enjoying the banter, but I think I finally got him down to my price because of the wood condition- It had lost its luster!-. After a couple of gun shows, he didn't get anywhere near his asking price and was finally willing to "open his ear to that dang girl". I guess I was a little persistent. And you'd think a woman would insist on "luster".

All of the advice on reloading was very helpful and I can't wait to start-provided I can find powder. Still crazy that the Winchester weighs the same as my Garand. Anyway, pictures as soon as it gets into my hot, little hands. Off to order "The Rifleman's Rifle"......
