Walther PPK
Sig P210
Walther P38
Colt 1911
M1 Carbine
MP40
Beretta 12s

A Detective special, for carry, had one about 10 years later
A Browing Pump shotgun also had one same time frame
An M14, -just in case

You guys have/had more money than my family back then for sure.

Centerfire/Deer Rifle, either a 98 Krag, an '03-A3 Springfield or SMLE, cost $13 or so. If you were rolling in dough, a Sears 53.

Rimfire Rifle, an old Win 90 or 06 pump, maybe a new Wards Western Field or if you were wealthy and could handle newfangled designs, a Remington 66

Centerfire Handgun, Luger or .45 Auto, but probably a used Colt Official Police, S&W Victory or 1917

Rimfire Handgun, Hi-Standard HD Military or if wealthy, Whitney Wolverine or Colt Woodsman

Shotgun, Winchester 12 or an older 97

S&W mod 10 3"
Remington 20g SXS
Thompson with drum mag
Lever Action .22 lr for plinking and everyday use
and for my deer gun probably stick with my Winchester 30-30

High Standard 22 auto
S&W J, K and N frames in 38, 357 and 44 mag
1911 with some tuning and better sights
Winchester model 70's in a variety of calibers
Browning A5 12 gauge

Only thing missing is a small carry auto like my Kahr

Wouldn't be too hard to do.

Mossberg 500 pump shotgun.
Marlin 30-30 lever action
Marlin 22 lever action
Ruger Mark I 22 pistol
M1a rifle
The pistol is the hardest part for me as I like Sigs and Glocks and my favorites didn't exist then. I could live happily with a 1911. I'd probably go with surplus WWII version that is nice and rattles so it is reliable.

In 1963 the guns were this old:

Model 70 5 years
Model 97 28 years
Pre-27 8 years

now in 2013 they are finally getting broken in.

I'd go with that three gun Browning Renaissance set: 9mm, .380, and .25. A Ruger .44 magnum, an m1 Carbine, a Browning Superposed 12 ga., and a Winchester Featherweight Model 70, probably in .270 or .30-06. From the day, they were all popular and classic guns.

rifle-savage 99 250 savage
shotgun-winchester model 12 20 ga.
revolver-colt saa 45 colt
plinker-browning auto 22
guitar--fender telecaster with p90 pickups and fender twin amplifier
