I almost choked on a dumpling while watching TV.

First, I have procured a picture of the "alleged" bullets that shot the Taiwanese president and VP. It is nearly perfect.

While I have not procured pictures of both shell casings yet.. they showed what looks like a 9mm Parabellum case, and a 38Special case. Under each case, they even wrote "Rimless, and Rimmed" (yes, in ENGLISH!!) under each bullet.

Then, the stinkin' head of the investigation said "These are the cases that were recovered, the bullets measured 8.1mm in diameter, and so do the case mouthes exactly, so they are indeed the cases that fired the bullets.. Second, because the bullet sizes are the same, these two bullets were fired FROM THE SAME GUN.."

Someone show me the gun that will fire in secsession, a 9mm parabellum and 38Special!!! They were saying that the gun was homemade, but now they say it is one that is not homemade. A quick check over at reloadbench.com says that a 9mm has 9.65mm as it's case mouth, and 9.030mm as it's bullet diameter. Not 8.1mm... which is quite a bit off.. And no semi-auto I know of will fire a rimmed bullet without bad bad things happening to it, and no 9mm I know off will allow a 38Special to be shoved into the magazine without serious problems..

While I am not Tamara, the BS that is being spread about guns and bullets here is just rediculous!! I can't believe only a handful are catching them in these lies!!

So have things calmed down in the streets there yet. I haven't seen anything on the news here since the election took place and they were asking for a re-count.

There are still protests going on, but the rainy weather has reduced the crowds significantly..

Saturday is the "big rally"... I'll probably be there to take some pics...

It IS possible. There is a revolver called a "Medusa" which will fire (mm and .38 Special, as well as several others in the same diameter. It wouldn't be my first choice as a weapon of assasination, if for no other reason than the rifling is VERY distinctive.

Whole thing smells more than fish sauce.
 
There is an auto, the S&W Mod 52-1 and 52-2, that was chambered for .38 special and had the singular distinction of having the ability to reliably feed wadcutters. In fact, that is what it was chambered for.

As I recall, it didn't sell very well. It only held 5 rds. in the mag.

It was made as a competion handgun, specifically for the centerfire pistol matches. I was issued one as part of a 4 pistol set (S&W 41, S&W 52, 2 Match Grade 1911A1's) when I was assigned to the 2d Army Marksmanship Training Unit.
