Yesterday, my wife, who works in the interior design industry (you know, arranging and decorating houses for sale, among other aspects), was taking a break with two ladies who work with/for her on a job while they were waiting for the furniture rental guys to move some furniture pieces into the house. Out of nowhere, the other two ladies started talking about their trip to the range this past weekend (separate trips to different ranges) and how one of them put six shots from a .44Mag pistol into the inner circle of the target (distance not spec'd). Also complained about scarcity of ammunition.
My wife, who is a shooter and has applied for her CHP/CCW permit, was so unexpectedly taken aback that all she could do was stutter "Uhh, yeh, I go to the range sometimes too."
These two ladies, my wife's colleagues, whom I've met, are the most unassuming middle-aged ladies you'd ever see. True, they are certified by a professional interior design organization, and people routinely open their houses to them and trust them with all their belongings, but they are literally just somebody's mom, aunt, grandma, etc.
I was greatly encouraged. Thought you might be, too.
