I have a modest but nice collection of firearms. All that I need plus more. There was only one thing (well, two counting another WWII Colt .45 or one of the other brands) that i really wanted.

An older S&W M29 4" barrel.

Well, to make a long story bearable, a friend of a friend was liquidating his collection prior to moving and I ended up with this beauty.

S&W M29-2, ser no S277,xxx (early 1967 or so), BEAUTIFUL blueing, hardly any wear, nice lockup. All it was missing is serial numbered stocks.

There is a god! And he does listen.

Beautimous!

That's sweet.
They just don't blue them like that anymore.

Those smooth target grips are my favorites.
All of my big Smiths would wear them if I could afford them.

Awesome!

That is a beautiful revolver. You are one lucky fella, congrats!

I don't suppose he has any others he's looking to sell off, huh?

Nekron...

"I don't suppose he has any others he's looking to sell off, huh?"

He does but he is leaving for FL this week and most everything is packed up for moving. I am just glad (and lucky) that I found out about htis one in time.

You say this guy is moving from Mass to Fla and is getting rid of guns. Does he know this is the free part of the country? When I moved here 25 years ago from Jersey, I walked into a shop to register my Model 19 I brought. Guy about choked on his tobacco juice, said"son, I don't rightly know what yer talkin about". Tell him to bring what he has left and get a CCW permit to make them more useful. Joe

Beautiful!

Congratulations. Losing a friend to distance is partially compensated by such a fine specimen.

FPrice, thats a relief. People who come here without guns wind up at the shows gobbling up the nice Smiths. You wouldn't believe how much that newly acquired specimen you have would be priced on a dealer's table at a local show. Congrats. Joe
