These guys think they know what's what

Morons. I can envision these guys Googling for as much info as they can about guns and then going back to post so that they can act all cool and seem like they know what they're talking about.

Ok, so which of you is ZigenBallZ? He seemed like the only one with any amount of sense in that thread. If I were having a face to face conversation with someone such as Propagandalf, I'd probably end up applying a blunt object upon his head many, many times. I know it's not exactly the high road..but a man would only be able to take so much..\

In no particular order:

1.) SIG P226 9mm
2.) HK MK23 .45 APC
3.) and of course... the DE (.375 varient though - might be out of production) - holds 10 rounds instead of 8.

I finished my pistol course and I am getting all of my paperwork together. I hope to soon be packin' also.
Remind me to stay far away from that boy's neck of the woods. Especially if he's got those hollowpoints. You all do know how those work, right?

Even he was posting some uninformed statements though. But your right...he seems to know more than any of the others.

''The trauma plates will stop rifle rounds like .223 and .308 but I believe stop short at 30-06 and 7.62x54 ''

OUCH! make it stop! make it stop! is there really that many uninformed people out there? i can't believe that people believe whatever they hear or read and end up so uninformed. wow. thats all i can say. wow.

The real problem is that most of the people trying to write gun control laws know even less than these guys do.

Hollowpoints turn your insides to mush wherever they hit. Must be one of those magic rounds I've heard about lately.

Oh hey dudes, I like saw this place on the internet where you can put those sight thingys on the side of your gun (wicked cool). I'm not sure if it's for real man because in the "Replacement Killers" they shot their guns on the side and their sight thingy's were still on top.

Speaking of movies..... I can't want for "Ludicrously Fastest and Seriously Furious Part 22" to come out.

Oh, come on! Cut'em some slack. I was once young and stupid and I bet a few of you other guys where too! Now, I'm mostly just stupid! I have some knowledge and education, but stupid is forever!

Well Duh... but how does it stand up to the wicked 5.56x45 or the ancient 7.62x63?

If it will stop a 7.62x51 but not stop a 7.62x54  then what about the 7.62x53R?

To be honest I think that some people over there must be suffering from a NOX leak in their fuel system.

Well, that was...special.

The good news is that guys on a car forum are discussing guns, and most seem to like them. My son posts on the BMW forum, and told me that they also post some intelligent material about the Iraq war, in which he was a participant last year.

By the way, he told me about one Iraqi who was popped twice in the chest by a US officer with a 9mm, using the required M882 ammo. The Iraqi went right down, and although a medic ran up to help, the guy "bled out" within a couple of minutes. He said that two other 9mm shootings went well, too.

I think it is the exceptional case when a 9mm or .38 doesn't stop someone, but a crook on PCP or angel dust is another matter than a military combatant.

By the way, the son said that his M9 Beretta worked fine when kept clean, and used with genuine Beretta magazines. Aftermarket magazines by another contractor often fail, and he swapped his out until he had all "good" mags for both his Beretta and his M4 carbine. Said that many troops don't know the difference, or care, but magazine quality matters.

I read the stuff on that forum. Those guys sound about half smoked. I hate to say it, but maybe there is a case for gun control.

Hey, I think I saw these guys at a gun show while I was in law school. One picked up an HK P-7 and showed his buddies how it was designed specifically for arctic troops, with the front grip acting as a trigger for when you wear mittens, or the trigger when you don't. When my buddy tried to point out the error of their thinking, he was told to go home and read more gun magazines so he would learn what a real gun was. These bozos then piad almost $1,000 for a Colt All American which, as they told us, was the finest handgun ever built.

What do I know? I just carry a 9mm Glock...

Don't be mocking his 9mm Glock, hehe
He could be packing hollowpoints in 'em.

After all, don't you know hollow point bullets

Nope. Just education.

I'm still young enough to remember when I thought I knew all about guns because I played video games, too.

Justin, once is enough. We get the point. You keep doing that, someone's likely to kill you with a hollowpoint. Those are those bullets that explode on impact, flattening the whole town.

Worth a read.

Perhaps; it does remind me of my youth. When I was in my early 20's and in the Navy, I hit the beach in CA with a friend, and ended up visiting a friend of the friend in L. A. He warned ahead of time that the guy was full of ????, so that I wouldn't spontaneously embarrass him by saying so. At some point this fellow brought out a .30 Luger, in reasonably nice shape, and some FMJ ammo. He explained to us how this ammo was designed to expand in the body. Keep in mind that this was in the mid-60's - no Federal expanding FMJ at that time.

I still have to remind myself occasionally that the mere fact that some idiot blathers on at length about something about which he knows virtually nothing is not by itself sufficient reason for me to respond.
