They never mean well

Don't know if this was part of the original intent, but to me this one says "The NFA was just the beginning".

I see the picture and think that if America where still truly a free nation with no NFA that full auto guns would be so innocuous and commonplace that your grandma might even own one

But the fed.gov started by taking grandma's MP40 back in '34. My Steyr M40 is in their sights today, to be followed by all of us being loaded into cattle cars.

I like it.

Not being able to tell if it's the housekeeper going out for the days groceries or a guard walking the perimiter of the Social Re-Engineering Facility adds power that you can't really get in anyother way.

The diminishing type size also seems to heighten tension as you reed... sort of like the background music from JAWS.

The first thing I see is a gun. The next is "Those who'd rob others of their personal safety never mean well." Unless one reads the fine print, this looks like something from the anti-Oleg Volk. Most people think of guns, especially sub-guns, as a threat to their personal safety. The choice of model suggests an armed matron of the Moral Majority, perhaps, imposing her morality on us at gun-point.

What better example of someone who doesn't mean us well?

That's the beauty of this composition.. It can mean so many different things...

I, too, see Gun-grabber Gestapo when I look at this. If that's what you intended, you nailed it.

Gotta say it again. This one's a no-go.

First impression: too wordy.

Second impression: makes one think -- about "which side is she on?" and then about the issue to which the picture is just an effective introduction.

Conclusion: Hanlon's Razor has us habitually giving the benefit of the doubt and attributing other people's actions to ignorance or stupidity when they actually come from malice.

Good one, Oleg. Disquieting.

Obviously, Oleg gave the choice of subgun a lot of thought. Nearly any other subgun, such as an Uzi or Sterling would infer self-defence or resistance, but the MP40 is nearly always associated genocide.

What would a PPsH say to folks? To me, it would mean "Communist" or "terrorist".

Giving the sheep a lot of credit with an advanced ability to recognize a gun's model and all it's implications aren't we?????

I've been into guns and shooting for well over 30 years. All I knew was that she was holding a sub-gun.

In addition giving the mindless masses credit for having the ability to even make the connection assuming they recognized the MP40(??) is IMHO giving them way more than their due.

As the picture stands the message is way too ambiguous. People prefer that the message be simple and clear - thinking gives most folks a headache.

Most people probably can't ID a gun too well, but they would be quick to pick up on a "Nazi" gun or the "Israeli" gun simply from TV or movies and associate them with "good" or "evil". Of course, the individual's politics would enter into it.

My take:
To me it looks like the person is a female = "mother", or for our purposes, one of the 'million'. An anti gun million mommer.
The subgun = symbol of Nazi tyranny = 'nother group who disarmed its populace.
Total picture, those who appear to care the most about 'safety' (million moms), want legislation that can/will eventually mean the end of freedom. Both groups are just as dangerous.

Dan
