The Handloader magazine discussed about the thickness of jacketed bullets in their Oct 2012 "Bullets and Pressures" article. In it, they indicated that Hornady XTP has the thickest jackets among the ones they looked into.
As we all know, thickness of the jackets is one of the major factors that caters to the bullet's ability to withstand higher pressure. Are Montana Gold (MG) jackets as thick as Hornady's? Has anyone sliced a bullets from Hornday and MG to compare their jacket profiles?
