Thin down Fat Gun Dog

My parents live a few hours away from me. Went to visit them and found out their 6 year old black lab is looking pretty chunky.

She's usually really healthy size. (It's not like she's a butterball, yet).

So I was wondering, she usually gets 1 cup, twice a day.

I think my dad's been feeding her, too much, when mom's there she takes care of both of them. I assume he's feeding her 2 cups, twice a day.

So should I just go back to her original feeding of:

1.) 1 cup, twice a day?

OR

2.) 2/3 of a cup, twice a day?

This thread will be locked soon .. BUT .. I would feed her 1 cup twice a day .. That seems very little for a black lab .. what is the recommended amount?
