Think I'm strange for carrying while doing construction

I have a lot of friends in construction and from their experiences a lot of hired help ranges from shady to downright criminal in their dealings with others. Theft, doing/dealing drugs on site, etc. There are crews that run a tight ship and weed out the riffraff quickly, but I don't like to take chances. I'd carry as well.

I don't know i try to stay away from manual labor but I do carry everywhere it is legal to do so.

So for the people that said they would carry how many of you have done real feet on the ground ( or ladder, scafold, rafter) 40 to 90 hrs a week construction labor. Installing a new mail box does not count. Personaly I could'nt even keep keys in my pocket without loosing them. If you do I would love to know how.

I've been remodeling a house for the past year and carry daily. The only things I do different than normal are no round in the chamber in case the gun falls, and put some heavy plastic over the muzzle to keep out dirt if using an open end belt holster.

The only thing I found that worked was... I never found anything that worked.

Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
And keys go on a clip that hooks onto the belt loop. Kinda dorky, but ehh.

What kind of holster?

That I might change. I carried it in my usual Fist ultra thin kydex IWB at about 3:30 o'clock. Now mind you, I didn't really even sweat much so we weren't doing really hard labor and we were under shady trees and beautiful skies. Through the day I did notice a little digging about my belt buckle area. For that kind of use, I'll probably try my glock holster OWB next time. May hang up a little more on stuff though.

Frankly, I've ccw'd for so long I didn't really even notice the gun was there. That's part of the exercise. Become so accustomed to carrying that it's as normal as wearing socks.

Def not goofy. For one thing, think about this - good construction tools are expensive so a construction site during work hours is a collection spot for thousands of dollar's worth of equipment. Good place to pick up something worth some cash, if you're not above stealing. However, construction site is also a collection spot for bit, strappin' construction workers. Not the kind of guys you'd want to mess with. If I was intent on stealing some goodies, I'd be armed.

Yeah, I'd carry! And yes, I've done construction work.
