Toying with the idea of a long range non magnum varmint and deer rifle.
I've been looking at the 6.5 Creedmoor and it sure seems impressive! It's flat shooting and holds enough energy to make ethical kills out to 400.
The big thing too is the high BC. Here in Montana 20 mph winds are considered a light breeze. There's been many days I've shot prairie dogs at over 400 yards with 35 mph winds. That little 22-250 bullet sure drifts!
Has anyone tried one?
One article I read the guy took a one shot kill on a mulie buck at 400. So it can definitely do the trick!
I'd go to a magnum but I love shooting prairie dogs to much to just leave it at home.
I see Hornady has their Superperformance ammo and Ruger is making Hawkeyes. Also saw a long range ABolt online.
Then too I can find stuff to load this caliber but I can't for my 308 or 22-250. Granted I have powder and primers.
