Thinking about a Burris Black Diamond scope, opinions?

The-fly;

I'm not going to be popular here. I don't buy Burris anything anymore. That's after the money spent for two scopes, and several mount/ring set-ups. Of all the product I bought, I've had one set of integral base/rings work properly, on a Ruger 10/22.

The scopes were a Fullfield 6-18X A/O target turret for a dedicated varmint gun, and the other was a compact 3-9X A/O for a hunter competition .22 rimfire. The second scope was sent back to Greeley Colorado for warranty consideration. Warranty was denied. I literally gave that scope away. Since then, I've sold the 6-18 and upgraded to a much better optic for about the same money. But a 12 year newer scope, with a 12 year newer design, for a very little less money, 12 years later! Therefore, without hesitation, I can say IMHO you can do better than Burris. Especially now that they are owned by Beretta, a company that has a less-than-stellar reputation for customer service.

If you want a truly superior scope in that price range, look at the Zeiss Conquests, the Leupold Tacticals, or the Nikons.

spent some time w/ it. looks cool, lacks a lot in resolution. brightness is fine. got rid of it and didn't look back.

concur w/ cb900 on better alternatives.
