Thinking about a s/w mod.22

I just read an article on the new mod.22 45 acp. revolver..I'm all a flutter....I may be looking into one of these soon.....anybody got one yet...or a similar 45 acp revolver?It seems like the best of both worlds.I'm pretty much a 38/357 guy....but this one's got me thinking(which is usually bad)it would be ideal for home defense and idpa as well.......

I have one. It kicks a bit more than a 1911. I am still looking for the right grips as I am not fond of the ones it came with. No failures to feed or fire. The chambers are tight as well as the gap between barrel/cylinder. All In all It is a fairly nice Smith ( for an N frame ) . I have been carrying it in a Thad Rybka 1/4 flap, cross draw holster when in the field and has not been uncomfortable nor has it gotten in the way. I am waiting on a Simple Rugged pancake style for CCW.

I have #255 and I like it. It's a big gun, has the lock which gets some all a twitter but I just ignore it, and has the recoil of a big bore revolver. Very nostalgic looking. Barrel is marked ".45 Cal Model of 1950" or something likethat. High cool factor amongst tradionalists.

I am not overly recoil sensitive with revolvers.1911's have beaten the crap out of the web of my hand.I do have arthritis however,and I wonder if it will have to muxh kick.I would put Houge's on it.I have shot a buddies 45 revolver(629 or something)and it didn't bother me.I would shoot standard weight ammo for the most part(I don't reload)...man I wish I could shoot one first.

I am not that recoil sensative, but I noticed a difference with my reloads. I was using the same ammo in both the 22 and the 1911, recoil was controllable in both, but I could feel more push on the 22.
I paid about 675. I have seen a few used one for less.

I bought one in December and I like it a lot. I did change the grips over to a set of Eagle Heritages though. I just can't get cozy with Magna style grips.

I had to file the front sight down a bit to match POI with POA, but I hear that this problem has been dealt with in the newer production guns with a shorter front blade.

I have seen them from $599 to $1,100. I bought mine off GunBroker.com from a TX dealer for $639 plus $10 shipping and $15 transfer. I think the suggested retail is $729.

I've had mine since November of last year. I really like the revolver. The DA trigger is a bit heavy but quite smooth, and SA is about perfect for a field gun. I don't want either DA or SA too light for a woods/walkabout/camping and occasional nightstand gun. I bought mine for all of the above and I have no regrets.

It handles really well becasue of the lighter weight barrel, the weight seems further back in my hand.

Tho' beautiful, the grips just had to go in favor of something more mundane but comfortable. I didn't like the felt recoil at all with the factory grips.

I paid a bit over $650 for mine but $25 of that was for a hand picked serial number.
