I've decided to get my first magnum-caliber gun, and right now I'm leaning towards a Super Redhawk .454 with the 7 1/2" barrel. I like the caliber because I don't reload and I think there's a good spectrum of factory ammo available in .45 Colt and .454. I like the gun because Ruger seems to have a good reputation for quality firearms and the Super Redhawk in particular is well thought-of.
I'm wondering if there's anything else of which I should be aware: quality problems in current production Rugers, issues with different finishes, brands I might not know about, potentially better caliber choices, that sort of thing. I would appreciate any input.
Also, feel free to post pics of your SRHs!
