Thinking about buying a Steyr S9-A1

I'm thinking about buying a Steyr S9-A1. Most of the posts on this pistol and its siblings (M-A1, C-A1) are old posts. Anyone purchased one recently? What are your thoughts?

The S9-A1 is roughly comparable in size to the S&W M&P 9C. Has anyone shot both? How do the two compare?

Unfortunately, none of my LGSs have these in stock, so I'll be buying sight-unseen.

The purpose of this purchase is to replace my Keltec PF9 as my primary carry pistol. My PF9 is way to picky with ammo.

I've owned a Steyr M40, M357-A1, M9-A1. Still have the M40 (with grip chopped to S40 length) and a 9mm conversion for it. Awesome pistols. The recoil is very light due to the low bore axis. I've shot full size M&P pistols but not the compact.
The trigger on the Steyr should be way better, especially the very latest ones with the lateral roll pin thru the slide just below the rear sight. The newest ones have no LCI like the older ones. M&P triggers are mushy in comparison.

If you do get a S9 look for some S40 mags for it. You can get 2 more rds in them, just tweek the feed lips in a little.

I would think there would be both better support and more readily accessible accessories for the M&P9c.

I have both a Steyr M40 and M&P40c and love them both. The Steyr does have a better trigger, but the trigger M&P really isn't bad.

I bought my Steyr new for $289 when CDNN was dumping them like they were hot. It was one of my best deals I stumbled upon.

I see SOG was offering new-in-box Steyr M9s (the lastest version, I believe) for $399. I have to say that I'm quite tempted, though I haven't any need for a 4th 9mm pistol.

Sorry, I'm sure I live under a rock, but I'm not familiar with SOG, except SOG Knives, which I know is not the SOG you are referring to.

SOG is Southern Ohio Gun, and they are a big distributor. I used to have an FFL with them, liked getting their catalog
