Thinking about selling my S&W 686P...Should I?

There are certain guns out there that are deemed CLASSIC. To name just a few:
Colt M1911A1
Beretta 92FS
Colt Python
Sig P210
HK P7
Ruger 10/22
etc, etc, etc

My belief is that the SW 686 is one of those classics. I LOVE shooting mine almost as much as my Python. Personally, even with the ILS, I'd keep that "classic" .357 magnum.

Once again..thx for the input all.

As I truly dont intend on using this gun for HD, maybe the whole ILS thing isnt such a big deal. Plus, I have to admit, if I sold this particular gun and bought a pre-lock version down the road, even IT would probably become a safe queen..more or less. So, I guess one fact might just cancel out the other. Also, maybe having ANY quality revolver around might just prove useful one day. Hmmm....

Its interesting to see several here who suggest keeping this gun, given that its a "locked" version. That says alot about the quality of this revolver regardless of its "questionable" addition. You guys have given me alot to think about. Thanks again.....

I'd hit the range with a couple box'es first then make up your mind.

I got a 686 without the lock and a 500 with a lock and it doesn't brother me one bit.

If you want to sell it, sell it.

I've sold a few and I regret selling some of them, but definitely not all of them.

Since it's the locked version, I might pass it on in your situation.
ANY gun you own could end up being an HD weapon under the right circumstances - at least that's how I look at it.
I personally won't buy a locked S&W at all, but that's just my preference.

IMO...don't sell it. If you're wanting the cash for another gun, wait and save or put the other one on lay-a-way.
