Ok have been looking at this rifle for a few weeks and keep trying to talk myself into it. Before I do I thought I would throw it out and get your opinion.
went into the pawn a few weeks ago and they have just put two rifles out. One was a rem 700 in 25-06 made in 1976. super clean condition and looked to of hardly of been fired. Had a weaver V-9-2-w scope on it that is very nice. I forgot they had done the one back then with the tv screen thing. I picked it up for $300.
But the other one they had is the one I was thinking about also and they came from the same guy. It is a win model 70 made in 1968 right before they started putting the G prefex in the serial numbers. the bolt is jeweled and the blueing is like new, very nice blueing. The stock looks to of never been coated with that finish or varish thing they do but more oil finish. It has a high comb with the rosewood foregrip and typical win checkering and winchester marked red recoil pad like the magnums had back then. The cal is 7mm mag. It looked to have redfield rings and mount also.
the down side for me is the scope was replaced with a cheap tasco from what ever it had on it as the scope looks more recent. also I already have a 7mm mag for hunting that is a very nice Sako.
I could get it for I am thinking around $325 to $340
So what do you think should I buy it or pass on it?
