Found this beauty two weeks ago and have been hoarding money ever since to pay for it. I have been looking for the third model for several years to complete my S&W single shot collection. It shows minimal blue loss and what more can you say about those Roper stocks. It is tight and locks up like a bank vault, whoever had it knew how to care for firearms. Best part about this is I found it about 30 miles from where I live, love finding S&W's local!

Good heavens!!!

Incredible find!!

Can you disclose a ballpark figure on what you had to pay for it??

Production year was around 1920. I had to pay a premium for it, the grips by them selfs are worth $1000, the condition of the gun itself also contributed, payed $2300.

That's one beautiful S&W Single Shot Target Pistol! In great condition and those Roper stocks are like the icing on the cake! Thank you for sharing it with us.

Dare To Be Cylinder Free!

That is the coolest topbreak I have ever seen. I trust that there will be a range report?

Old school styling, design and craftsmanship - elegant piece - rare stuff in that condition - I would be proud to own something like that - good for you.

I'm staring at the pictures, I'm all covered in sweat and the keyboard is wet with drool ................
AMAZING!

The Third Model Single Shot was built on the frame of the .38 Perfected Model, S&W's odd combination of a top break with the modern swing cylinder lockwork and integral trigger guard. The single shot, though, was a pure top break and did not have the thumb latch of the Perfected. They are interesting guns and very accurate. You did well, Gjamison.
