This could be the proper case for Constitutional Carry

"The Supreme Court wants the case to be reconsidered by the lower court and focus on whether the text of the law is compatible with the Second Amendment."

All of us ought to send all the judges in the lower Court dictionaries. We can call them amicus lexicons as if they were briefs. We can specifically cite the pages on which the words "arms," "be," "bear," "keep, " "infringed," "not," "right," and "shall" occur. Like that, in alphabetical order, just to be proper about it.

We'll see what happens.

NY's case just got stopped by a judge so we'll see how it goes.

So only residents of Maryland whom have a Maryland carry permit can carry in Maryland?

Sounds like they are denying it unless you're a Maryland resident.

That doesn't sound like it will fly.

Well, Illinois made it fly. Illinois residents can carry in Wisconsin, but not vice versa. I guess the rationale is that Illinois has stricter requirements for the CCL, so we savages up in WI are not "fully trained".

That falls apart though, when there is no option for a Wisconsin resident to take the IL training course; to get an IL CCL, one has to be an IL resident. It really castrates those of us who leave near the border and have to go into IL often.

Same for Maryland vs. Virginia, I imagine.

Article 4, Section 1, Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each state to public acts, records and judicial proceedings of every other state.

I think the Constitution is pretty clear, even for politicians.

I am not a fan of laws restricting people from doing anything that harms no one else. Carrying/owning guns, use of drugs, gambling, prostitution, whatever.

Use of drugs, gambling, and prostitution (I would add alcohol as well) are not victimless crimes.

But it is not the place of the federal government to decide such things for the whole country.

The 10th Amendment says you're right. I don't know about the gambling and prostitution, but most drugs and alcohol are sold across state lines and, subsequent to the interstate commerce clause, subject to Federal regulation. Guns, too, for that matter.

These are the same politicians who read the Constitution and see the power to regulate firearms.

While not exactly the same, if I cannot carry with my state issued Concealed Carry License, why is it that I can drive a non-California approved car in California? The vehicles that I drive do not meet CA vehicle standards, but I can still drive them there.
