I didn't believe what I was reading at first. A gun dealer
could be fined ANYWHERE in the U.S for a gun used
    in a crime ?

    not that nuts

    Well, but still pretty nutty.

They sure are determined to "take the fight" to the rest of America:

Is this the "new loophole?" I guess loopholes are OK when it is your side that pushes them . .

David Yassky is an anti-gun fanatic in the strictest sense. Apparently, he’s also a very bad lawyer if he thinks he can pass a local law that applies to people outside his jurisdiction and can’t be overridden by Congress.

They either just make that up or got it from NYAGV, who just made it up. Not only is it an impossible stat to prove, it’s an impossible stat to collect.

Two anti-gun-owner lawyers think NYC is shooting blanks:

I thought regulating interstate commerce was exclusively the duty of the US Federal government?

The gun companies not based in New Dork should tell him flat out that he can go ["do something unsavory."]

If he had any sense, he'd be concerned about criminal violence.

To most of these lefties think gun-owner = murderer looking for a place to strike, gun-dealer = murder weapon supplier, and gun-maker = murder weapon maker. So therefore all of the above are the source of criminal violence.

Yes, this would definitely run afoul of the dormant commerce clause powers of Congress. Basically there is no way this legislation could stand... it would get struck down the first time it went to court.

    We hope.

If I was a gun dealer outside of NYC, I would send them a note in the mail, enclosed would be a picture of my middle finger.

Well, at least any Federal court. I'm not at all sure about NYC courts or even NY State courts.

I know it is wishful thinking but how about the gun manufacturers stop selling to the NYPD and other NYC law enforcement agancies. Don't service anything either. Screw them and their NEw YorkTrigger. Carry truncheons like the British Bobbies! Yassky is sure we don't need firearms!:neener:

NYC has a variation of the same syndrome that affects leaders of Red China. In the Chinese, it's called the Middle Kingdom complex-they believe that China is rightfully the center of the world.

NYC thinks they're the center of the world, and that world revolves around them.

Gun control has worked so well for NYC, why not a bunch more gun control laws?

    [/sarcasm]

Too bad we don't still hang traitors, this guy would be at the top of the steps.

    Simple solution...

other cities, mainly those with gun dealers affected by this idiocy, should pass local legislation that fines NYC councilpersons $200,000 every time they open their yapper.

One should be about as enforcible as the other....
