A Chicagoan did a little research on the most dangerous cities from around the world. Interestingly, the only American cites on the list have some of the strictest gun "control" measures on the books.

That just goes to show that the murder rate is independent of the degree of gun control. You could argue that the degree of gun control is a response (usually ineffective) to the high murder rate. The most important determinants of the murder rate are cultural and demographic factors.

It's true. But why are they flooding into these cities? It's because they can go somewhere else, get a gun, and then go to a city with strict gun control laws because the civilians will not have them.

I'm all for measures to reduce crime and violence. Reducing guns doesn't help that cause. Let's find a way to keep violent criminals off the street and promote social programs that aim at A) promoting self defense and B) reducing risk factors for violent behavior in youths, and we'll be on our way to making violent crime a much less appealing "profession".

The biggest problem with Chicago is the gangsters(chicago politicians). I'm really starting to believe things were better when Al Capone ran the show.

When Al Capone ran the circus, there weren't 500+ murders by guns in one summer. AND HE HAD FULL AUTO MACHINE GUNS. When "they" say our country is "like the wild west" my blood boils. They've had more murders by gun in one summer in Chicago than in the history of the wild west and guns are banned almost completly in that POS city. Sorry for the rant.
