This is a beautiful shotgun.

Sure it will function. The barrels are steel that have been electroplated with 24kt gold.

Personally, I think deeply blued barrels with gold platted side plates and hardware would have been nicer looking. Those barrels don't do much for me.

Thats a "commemorative" gun, it has little value except what someone will pay for it, and it will not appreciable increase in value.

it should have a treble hook on the butt stock and a nice swivel and leader on the other end, because all they are doing is fishing for a sucker...

The extensive coverage of gold plating improves the shotgun's aerodynamic qualities and repels airborne dirt particles that can accumulate to shift its balance. These are among the many valuable benefits that promise to make this treatment the first choice of the military in future combat situations.

Those guns are laser engraved. No real gunsmithing was involved, if you notice the screws, there is no attempt to lign up the slots and for Heaven's sake, are those phillips screws in the butt?

It's okay Augustus - nobody is bashing on you. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...but your right to save for the Garand instead. ;)

The problem is that that is all laser engraving. Give me half a day on Corel Draw and I can get the graphics to my local guy. $100 later, I'll have the engraving done. As to the electro-plate, I can help you there.

Come on guys.....play nice.

I go to a car show and see a Corvette with a "custom" paint job. Why the hell anybody would want to pay $10,000 mess up a classic Corvette with goofy stripes is beyond me. Some guys think it's cool.

I'll make you a deal. You buy what you want and I'll buy what I want. Now, that shotgun, it's not what I want, but someone does.

OhMyGawd!

I'd sell my left nut to have that! I would not need it anymore, because owning that masterpiece would allow me to die happy! Beauty is in the nuts of the beholder!................elsullo

I saw "Iowa" and "Black Hawk County" are on the gun. I grew up there (that's Waterloo Iowa) and they have nothing great. A large John Deere plant and that is about it anymore. That would downgrade it in my opinion. I'd rather have another Mossberg if I had to keep it.
