Ok, it may be ill-mannered to say this on this forum. I appreciate this forum and the setup for firearm listings buy/trade. I've done Glock Talk for years and it has been a great site, but now they have changed their buy/sell/trade forums, and are moving in the direction of charging for that service eventually. A kind of firearms ebay? I don't know. I don't like change. I bought from the sponsors of that forum, so I thought I was doing my part. Good luck to them over there. I know like this forum better.

I just left a site that only moderators could post to the sell forum. It makes you wonder what they are thinking. :rolleyes:
 
I thought I might be alone in my depression about the change to the "other" site. I wouldn't have minded them moving the sales section so much if they hadn't messed up the traffic to the other sections. It's now a hassle to access the talk portions.

Whenever anyone asks about a well-run site, I always point them to THR!!
 
I do still post on GT, and I think that Eric does a heckuva job and has good intentions, but there have been some very vulgar posts there lately. Granted, the moderators remove them as soon as they are reported, but the site in general tends to attract a lot of, for lack of a better word, young punks. (Note: by 'young punks', I do not mean all young people, or even most young people. You young folks know the type I mean. Come to think of it, it also attracts some old cranks...)

I've been going to glocktalk since 2000 or so, but I stopped going at the beginning of the year when Eric put Flash ads on his site.

I've enjoyed his site immensely, but won't turn on flash and it just got too tiresome clicking NO to the "do you want to allows software such as activex and plug-ins to run?" question on every page.

Didn't notice the classified changes before I stopped visiting, but then I don't buy-sell much (or at least not more than I can get away with!)

I followed TFL here and have pretty much settled on 3 'recreational' forums, THR, Fal Files, and Sword Forum Intl.

All seem well run w/o too much in the way of troll-induced noise.

There are lots of firearms web sites out there! Some
I like better than others. Without creating a frenzy
by naming names, I would have to say that you have
landed on a wonderful site, here with the THR team.
We could fill volumes with firearms knowledge that
members have contributed to these forums. Hope
you enjoy this site has much as I do?

THR is the best firearms forum out there, period.

That said there are a lot of good solid forums out there.

I just do not find the flaming and attitides that I run across on other sites here, much. :D
