This is why..............

I'm Fortunate when I lost a finger it didn't hurt to much and they were able to reattach it, worst part was the 2 holes they drilled the length of my middle finger for the 2 pins I had for a few months. My finger now tells weather better then any news station lol.

As there was a 40-tooth carbide finishing blade instead of a 24-tooth ripping blade, I was very lucky. It went through the joint, destroying it. Reattachment wasn't an option. as the thumb went into immediate shock, it didn't hurt. Because of the elastic nature of the arteries, it also didn't bleed very much. The orthopedic specialist that sewed it up in the ER said the bone still in the tip of the thumb was barely even scratched. He had me come to his office 3 days later as he feared an infection. When I got there, I told him I was already thinking up ways to put a piece of PVC pipe on the end to give the curve necessary to hold a can of soda.
He almost fell off his stool laughing. He said "You're going to be alright, aren't you?" I said "Yeah, it's just a little inconvenience."

Mine went through the joint to so no damage to the bone, I remember the surgery being pretty pricy for workmens comp. My finger has a little Permanent S shape to it, the pins were to help prevent that guess it could be worse tho. Some days i wish they just left it off, only time when recovering I cursed having a manual transmission, hitting the dash with the pins in the finger going for 3 or 5 hurt like hell.

I feel sorry for the man. Cooking is an honorable profession. If you can do it for 200 guys so much the better. I hope you took him under your wing and continue to shoot with him.
Thank you for your perspective, but I did not. There were some other issues involved as well that I would prefer not to go into. I will just say that he proved to be very dishonest in other ways and I will leave it at that.
This thread is more about improper hotdog and finger cooking techniques.

That is poor cooking technique. The insides may not be heated up properly.

I would recommend using 22lr. Hold your wiener farther from the gap. Shoot enough times until you're satisfied that it's warm all the way through.
