Not a big fan of the scales

They come too far down and dictate that you move your work area(sweet spot?) a little too forward for my taste. Also, as the knife is sharpened(many many times) it will leave a hollow that will even exacerbate the problem even more.
I like my kitchen knives to be all edge from tip to the very back of the blade.
 
I've also given that knife some thought. The blade looks very thin though.

As for shipping, I plan to buy some more items so to average out the total cost. I have always found Lee Valley to be a fast shipper so it is worthwhile for me.
