Just thought you might like to see this quote which came from a Photographic Forum in the UK to which I contribute. It was posted after I posted a picture of my 1858 New Model Army and I think it says it all.

I'm sorry to make my first post so irrelevant to photography, but I do so agree with you and Gerry as to the success of the removal of firearms from individuals here in the UK. I used to shoot competitively, and in the course of duty, and was always impressed and reassured by the care and attention given by all who enjoyed the use of guns. It was also such great fun! I would consider the sacrifice that previous owners have made totally justified if I thought that a single gun-related crime had been prevented by their withdrawal - but I do not believe that. And just to be fair, and I am no sympathiser, but the original decision on confiscation was taken not by TB, but by my cricketing confrere, John Major!
