I don't shoot this shotgun very much (just a shot or two at turkeys each spring, if that), but the more I look at it, the more I think I might have made a mistake here.
Mounted the scope up with a mount for a Taurus Raging bull revolver, clamped onto the vent rib.
But under recoil, that's going to put undue forward pressure on the screws holding the vent rib to the barrel, which are not designed for this kind of force.
So, do you think it's going to ruin the vent rib and I'm lucky it hasn't already..... Or, OTOH, "just a few shots a year should be fine for one lifetime"? This is an NEF (Sarsimalz) cheapie. I love this rig so hate to change it, but I'll take it off and go back to irons if I think it's going to shear those screws.
