This is important because according to Ruger this model has been out of production since 1982. the serial number is 186-45xxx.

As the posts above show, you got incorrect information somewhere or misinterpreted it. Your rifle is from 1995. Lots of guns get little use, and some (like yours?) get none, before they're resold by the original purchaser.
