I think what "fairly wealthy" means to most people in this country is actually "has at least half a brain and spends/saves in a manner fitting ones income". I think thr members fit that category.

I totally agree. Nowadays, anybody that earns a modest, livable wage and actually manages their finances responsibly is labeled "rich" by politicians and the media. And subsequently gets screwed by the US tax code. To me, its disgraceful that we get penalized for working hard and acheiving the American Dream.

And its certain to get worse over the next 4 years. Oh the joys of our welfare state. :uhoh:
 
Er...never heard of Hobbytron, and the only way I can be considered wealthy is if I sold all my firearms....which isn't happening! Good to see it's got a good rating though!
 
I have now been to Hobbytron.

Having this hobby and remaining wealthy seems, in my mind, impossible. :)

This junk is expensive, and if I wasn't broke, I would spend much more money on this hobby.
 
I agree THR is populated by fairly wealthy people. We have a wealth of ideas about topics that we think are very important. I think THR members represent true wealth in that respect.

Well when you consider that the vast majority of male adult forum trafficers in many other 'popular' websites are 18-23, still in college or living in mom's basement, then yea as 'computer oriented males' we probably beat the curve a bit.

I also must say I never have been to hobbytron until now, and I don't ever plan on going back.

Maybe a small small subset of the THR audience would be buying airsoft for practice, but I think the vast majority of us would rather buy a new gun vs a fancy MP5 airsoft, or RC helocopter, etc.
 
Well I don't think we are counting 'lurkers', who never sign up. I personally know five lawyers, three doctors, and eight college professors who lurk and check stuff out on occassion and i spread the word constantly. Just today alone I told three peopel.
 
Perhaps they meant "fairly wealthy" the same way BArack Obama and Joe Biden mean it. You know, anyone who happens to earn more than $40K or so.
