I just couldn't pass up the deal on Thompson Center Compass rifles at Kentucky Gun Company. I ordered one in .243 and another in 7mm-08, both outfitted with Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 scopes. The combined total for both scoped rifles was $727.98 shipped. Plus Thompson Center is offering a $75 rebate for the Compass. After applying $150 (2 rifles x $75), the total will be $577.98.

The deal is still going on in case anyone else is interested.

Does anyone own a Compass, especially in those calibers? How is it? Most people seem to like them, especially since they feature threaded barrels, 5r rifling, and a 1 MOA accuracy guarantee with premium ammunition. The major complaint is that the included mounts are often not secure and require Lok-Tite to be applied by the user (something I do anyways).

I plan to use my rifles for whitetail.

I already own a .308, .30-06, and similar chambered rifles so I figured I'd get a couple lighter calibers. I thought about getting a Compass in .300 Win Mag, but figured I wanted a heavier rifle, likely with a wood stock, for that stout round.

Anyways, hope someone can benefit from this post. Looking forward to hearing about your Compasses!

Wow! Now that's a deal. I have a Venture and a Dimension. Both these T/C offerings are extremely accurate so I have no reason to believe that yours will be anything else.

Good buy! Ive never gotten to handle one IRL, besides an odd shape to the front of the stock they seem like a really nice rifle for the price.
Tack on the scopes and thats a steal.

Let us know how they shoot!
