Don't have one of my own (yet) but I have capped quite a few rounds of .45-70 out of a Contender that belonged to a friend of mine. It was a gas to shoot. Even his hot loads. (The owner had quite a reputation for pushing the limits of reloading.)
In .223 or .30-30 it's a pussycat.
But then, I LIKE big bore handguns. Don't understand folks who find a .44 mag to be a lot to handle. (Though I concede it might be in a lightweight snubby.)
