thompson serial number help

Good day,

I just picked up a used thompson in vg+ condition. It has a serial #prefix with KB followed by 4 numbers. Fixed stock, non pistol grip forearm. 16 barrel with pinned compensator. Stamped "auto-ordnance corporation
Worchester, Massachusetts USA


Any help would be appreciated.

Serial number date range, and whether this is a auto ord, nurmrich or kahr manufacture.

It's a Kahr version.

The Auto Ordnance Company, maker of submachine guns was sold to Numrich Arms/Gun Parts in the 1950's.
George Numrich designed the semi-auto model and sold it under the Auto Ordnance name.
In the 1990's, Numrich sold the Auto Ordnance company to Kahr Arms.

So, all Thompson semi-auto guns are Auto Ordnance, either by Numrich Arms or Kahr Arms.

Email Kahr/Auto Ordnance and they'll tell you when it was made.
