Thoughts on Kahr MK40 Elite 98

I'm about to adopt slowmont's MK40/98, and am interested in some feedback on a few questions...

1) In doing some research on Kahr's manufacturing, I found that there's some point in Kahr's history that quality dipped for a while. Was there a time that the MK series was effected?

2) Stainless guide rods - recommended to get one, or avoid one?

3) What's the preferred ammo, if any? Does it like Golden Sabers?

4) Springs (mag / recoil) - any problems, thoughts or issues?

5) Anything else unique about the pocket rockets? I'd welcome any thoughts, comments or suggestions so that I may live and learn vicariously...

So, from the response(s), I gather that the Kahr MK40 is a pretty good pistol? Or is it that I had a typo in the subject line?
