Took two new pistols to the range this morning. First up was my new Sig P220 in 45 ACP. I picked it up Friday afternoon. It's been on my bucket list for a long time. Put about 100 rounds of RWS match grade through it. The P220 is a sweet shooting pistol when I concentrate on what I'm doing, but if the stuff hits the fan I'm still grabbing my Glock 21. I've been shooting it so long that it just feels natural and I shoot it rapid fire much better than the Sig. I'm not saying the Glock is the more accurate pistol. I'm saying it's more accurate for me, right now.
The next pistol I shot today was my new Glock 27. That gun is just too small for a 40 S&W! I can keep all my rounds on a human silhouette at 10 yards rapid fire if I really concentrate, but it is not easy to shoot. Luckily for me, it came with a Lone Wolf 9mm barrel. It is night and day. With the 9mm barrel I can dump a 12 round mag into an inch and a half group all day. The Lone Wolf barrel is threaded for suppressor which makes it less comfortable for concealed carry, but it is much easier to shoot. I'll probably order a standard 9mm barrel for it for carry. I've never been a fan of the 40 S&W. I'm still not.
All in all it's been a pretty good morning.
