I recently bought a gently used glock 31. I dropped in a Lone Wolf barrel in .40 S&W and it started chainfiring on the first shot. I removed the 40 barrel and replaced it with the factory barrel and had no problems in .357 sig. The Lone Wolf barrel protrudes about 1" from the frame and was the one designed for the model 31. Has anyone experienced this with their glocks with aftermarket barrels?

That's really bad. Did you say it projects one inch from the front? Is it supposed to be an elongated barrel?

I really can't think of anything that would make one barrel turn your gun into a slam-firing nightmare of a hazard and the other barrel perfectly normal. Something is very wrong, can you put up some detailed photos of the two barrels and the areas on the barrels and slide around the lockup points?

I've a few posts of fully automatic fire involving the 40 S&W & Lone Wolf barrels over the years. I suspect a dimension is not correct on the barrel.

'Chain firing'......as in full auto?

It's hard to imagine that the barrel would be causing it.....though it could be a contributing factor.....have the trigger parts been polished? Are there ANY other alterations to the gun from factory stock condition?

Do the fired cartridge primers have 'normal' firing pin impact marks?

Pics would be good!

I have the Lone Wolf .40 barrel in my 31. It is the stock length M/22 (Lone Wolf stock # LWD-2240N) and it protrudes only 1/8" beyond the end of the slide. You may have the wrong barrel.

First of all I want to assure you it is impossible for a barrel to cause any Glock pistol to run FA. If you have any concerns as to the condition of this barrel I am more than happy to check it free of charge. All you need to do is return it to me for inspection. LWD contact information is here http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Content.aspx?PAGE=Contact Please include a brief note explaining the problem as you see it and mark the outside of the package attention Dan. FYI: LWD products are lifetime guaranteed so there is no worries regarding workmanship.

Second, if the barrel protrudes about an inch from the muzzle you most likely have a G35 barrel. Once again, no worries! This barrel will work in any G22 or G31 pistol.

Finally, I want to encourage any THR member or LWD customer to always contact us direct regarding an issue or failure of any part we manufacture or offer for sale. We are the experts regarding their use and will be the fastest resolve to any issue you may have. Feel free to use our customer service or contact me direct at [email protected]

Yeah that's about an hour slower than the time my 27 extended 40-9 barrel bit down on the Fiocchi XTP and wouldn't let it go. Seriously these guys are incredible for CS.

I sent my barrel to lone wolf two weeks ago and have confirmed they got it. Haven't heard anything back yet. I was told it is possible that the .40 S&W ammo I bought might have also been the cause, winchester ball ammo.

If the ammo had high primers than yes it could. Any high primers on the ammo?

Let us know what they say about your barrel.

glock 31 chainfire (slam fire) solved.

Earlier I complained about my used glock 31 slamfiring with the lone wolf barrel in
.40 caliber. I sent the barrel into lone wolf and they sent it back a couple of weeks later. Before receiving it back, I took the glock into a local gunsmith, a registered glock dealer. He discovered someone had attempted a trigger job and replaced the transfer bar with an after market part to lighten the trigger pull, had put it back together and reversed a spring. The part had a bend in one end that was not as severe an angle as the factory part. It was a silver bar about 2 inches long and had several oval shaped holes milled out of it. The bar was removed and replaced with a factory glock part and the spring was put in the correct place. Shoots like a dream now and the lone wolf barrel that was for the model 35 is really accurate. I apologize to lone wolf if I in any way besmirched their reputation.

It probably didn't help that many Glocks can fire up to 1/4" out of battery. I suspect yours is one of those, which contributed to the problem.

357sigdoo:
You had a Ghost Rocket competition trigger connector in your gun. A little reading over at Glocktalk.com may get you some more background on it.

Or you can just leave your gun with the factory connector and be happy. :)

Warden Wolf, it is not possible for a GLOCK to fire when it's 1/4" out of battery. mechanically impossible.

To the OP--What else did you do to the gun?
