Just looking on thoughts about a remington 1911, seems not many people talk about them. Anyone have good or bad info on them?

Thoughts...hmmm. I'll take two please?
All the talk I've heard says they seem to be good guns. The only reason I could see for not buying one is they aren't rated for +p. Folks been gettin dead by 1911s for a loooong time without +p in the chambers tho

The Remington 11-87 is an incredible shotgun. Shoots four rounds very quickly. I assume the Remington 1911 is very similar.

well, its a start, had a guy offer me a new remington 1911 for my used ruger super blackhawk in 44mag, always wanted a 1911

update.... did the trade, remmy, is brand new, took it to my gunsmith, he checked it out, all good, had to wipe off the facory oil, put 50 rds through it and works great, serial number comes up clean as well, shows him as the last one to buy it, traded a $400 used gun with 150 rds and a nylon holster, for a brandnew, $650 gun, must be my lucky day. Not that my gun was junk, it looked brand new as well, but i had 300 rounds through it

I've put about 2k rounds through mine. Feeds perfectly, and accurate. I like the clean, military look. The factory lock-tite was no good - by 500 or so rounds, my front sight, rear sight, and grip bushings had all come loose. Also, casings were getting dented in the ejection process, so I got all that tuned at a shop. The classic-style grip safety is a little low and bites into the hand, so I replaced it with a beavertail. It's still in the shop, so results pending.
