Thoughts on a Stevens 243

Anyone have any first hand experience with this rifle and caliber?

Can't say about the rifle but the caliber is EXCELLENT.

I would call it , for it's price , as near perfection as you can get. Totally utilitarian, rugged, made to beat up, you can make the trigger as light as you want in about 15 minutes, nicely accurate, light, handy, and of course a nice savage bbl. About the only better deal out there for a true beat em up, is a Mosin.

I have the Savage with the AccuTrigger. I like it real well, but mine has sights. For the money they ask for the Stevens, GO FOR IT.

Pretty dang good rifle - have it in the .243 - you can't go wrong.

I have a Stevens in 223 and if the 243 is anything like it...you'll love it
