Thoughts on hanging a firearm as decoration?

MattSchlock, that pic reminds me of a friend of mine lives up in Brooklyn. He found an M1 Garand stock in a junk shop in the city for five bucks(!), and hung it over the horseshoe over his door. He said that thinking later, walking around Manhattan with it after dark sporting the very long beard he had at the time might have freaked a few people out. Everybody wins!

My grandma had a Kentucky rifle over her wood stove. If she ever had to brandish it (which she did once) she had to make sure she was showing the right hand side ( it was made of plaster)!
