I like my LCP. I carry it in the Desantis Nemesis in my right front pocket. Still waiting for Ruger to contact me so I can send it in per the recall for some "improvements".

Personally, I love Ruger firearms. I have been very happy with their customer service and all firearms I've shot and owned of theirs.

HOWEVER...

IMO, you should buy guns like you buy cars: never buy the first year's production of a new model. Wait until the company finds out all the little kinks in the first year and buy next year's production.

I have shot one many times and found it to jam up on the feed. I gave up on the gun. My friend wanted to buy it and I told him to shoot it first. I watched him shoot 100 rounds without failure. I determined the problem. My hand is too large and I have to hold the gun out of the normal position so I can get my finger in the guard. That alone caused the failure to feed as it will not cycle properly. Since then he claims 12 boxes of ammo and no failures.

I like mine but...

I too am having some feeding problems. I have put 250 rounds through the gun so far and the problems are curing themselves as the parts wear in a little. I have a current post going right now called Ruger LCP-Range report. The gun is shooting well enough that I am carrying it but if it continues to hiccup at the next range session then it will get a return trip to Ruger.

I've been considering one but there is a waiting list (I'm on one) around here so I went with a Bersa Thunder .380acp.

The LCP's grip is just too short for my hand but the Bersa has a nice grip. While it's not as small as the LCP it is still very concealable.

I may still get one for the wife as it fits her small hands quite nicely. I had her hold the display model and she seemed pleased with the way it felt.

I like mine but I will not carry with one in the pipe due to no fireing pin block.
I was not aware of the design until I bought it and disassembled it,If the hammer falls theres nothing to stop it from firing.Maybe the recall will prevent this but I don't think so.I love the size but wish it was safe like my P95 and most other semi auto's

I shot a friend's LCP and was very disappointed. With all the hype I really expected a much better gun. The trigger is awful and frankly, I wouldn't give $50 for one. There are other 380's that are much, much better.

A guy I work with keeps one strapped to his kevlar as a BUG, he loves it. I tried to shoot it last weekend, couldn't stand it. I have big hands and it's too small, too light, too narrow and too short. When I used a standard grip I felt like it was going to fly out of my hands and when I held it tighter it felt like I was going to crush it. No thanks.

the new magazine that ruger is sending back with the returned recall guns seems to make for a much improved grip. i've yet to shoot the returned gun, though. it was jamming before. i've yet to find a mini-automatic that i would trust in an emergency.

i like mine. no feeding problems after the initial 200 rounds. (may have been less, i dont remember) anyway, PLAN on getting magazine finger extentions for it. they help a bunch, and it really does not make the gun print any different in your pocket. the pressed in "checkering" does not have nearly as good of bite in your hand as a kel-tec does (theirs is in the correct position, shrp points outward). both of these are pretty good pocket pistols. pick one up, you'll like it! oh yes. dont forget to buy a bunch of ammo!

I shot a friends LCP and the thing was actually quite accurate. There were no malfunctions either. Other than that I really dont like the gun, or the design in general. I also dont like the recent 380 hype and will not ever carry one as a primary CCW. Ket a good Kahr 9mm or 40 or 45.
