I actually qualified with my 4” Model 69, as I use it as a fishing sidearm when up in the Sierras trying for early season trout. I highly doubt I will see another bear up there, as the only one I’ve seen ran away so fast it was a blur. But in the early season they may be pretty fresh from the den and hangry, so the .44 goes with me.
Didn’t do too badly, but shooting one-handed right and one-handed left opened up the impacts a bit (My 5 left-handed shots all went furthest right, go figure!)
Load was 7.3 gr Unique under a 215 gr Brazos coated SWC in .44 Spl. cases.
