Beside it being butt ugly? I think that girl is going to need a lot of makeup before she gets too many dance partners!
In the other hand I wouldn't mind having a semi-auto rifle in .45acp. No experience with company so I can't really give any useful insight.
It's trying to look like an AR but failing badly.

For that much money...I'd get a Hi-Point 995, an ATI stock, a bunch of extra mags, and 2000 rounds of ammo, and probably have enough left over for some quantity of the adult beverage of my choice.

That's the first pistol-caliber carbine I've seen that puts the mag-well ahead of the trigger, instead of in the pistol grip. That alone will make it a few inches longer than the others, assuming a 16" barrel.
I never heard of this company, and the ad looks slightly suspicious by its lack of any specifications other than a list of features.
For that price you can get a Hi-Point and at least a couple cases of ammo; just not available in .45ACP. They're great fun, btw, and easy to hit targets with.

High priced toy. There seems to be a rash of low end, expensive, pistol cartridge 'carbines' lately. Note the 'Coming Soon April 2010". No site update in 3 months. May not exist.
If you want a carbine, buy an M1 Carbine.

I recall reading a very positive review of EMF's overall engineering and manufacturing capabilities and of this gun actually...

No,they chamber .30 Carbine,it's around .357mag ballistics,though I think the .357 has a little better energy at longer range.
I'm sure there would be a reason for a .45acp carbine,but I think the only reason I'd buy one is cause' the weapon looks cool.
My dad gave me a M1 carbine,and it's always worked well,as have most of them for the last 50 years.

So then the M1 recommendations itt have nothing to do with the OP and further, M1's can't share the same ammo as your pistol either.

I'd be interested if it ran in the $500 range, $700 is just too much. I've been looking at pistol caliber carbines for a few years now and I've found that it's hard to find a high-cap .45 model for a reasonable price. I've considered picking up a RIA double stack in .38 super or .45 and slapping a mech-tec upper on it myself.
I'd pay a little more for that set up but I'd have the option to run a double stack pistol or a carbine with the mec-tec unit.

This think doesn't compare favorably to (INSERT PET GUN) at all. It's (INSERT GENERAL OBJECTION) is a deal killer.
Just buy an (INSERT PET GUN, EVEN IF IT IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH OP'S SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OR INTENT) instead, you'll be a lot happier.

I love this site. Ask a question about a carbine and people tell you to get an M1 carbine. Ask about a rifle, and you are told to get a Garand or M14.
You all do realize that technology has advanced in the past 70 years, right? I am surprised no one has pushed the OP to look a Thompson clone.

The question, I thought, was that he wanted my thoughts on this new carbine,and my thoughts on that subject were that he'd be better off buying a M1 carbine,I missed the part where he said he was looking for something to "share the same ammo as your pistol"
Strictly regarding the Carbine he was asking about,it looks like a functional enough design,but for $700 I'd go with a design that were a little more tried and true (like the M1)

If its the same size as an m4gery why get it in a lower power/ more expensive/ propriety setup etc etc.
If you're going to go ugly, might as well save a load of cash and get a Hi Point. reliable, ugly, cheap. you can pick one up for $260. Use the rest on ammo. Or, like I did, get a second one for the kid. he likes it, fun to shoot, cheap way to learn. And, you've sacraficed nothing on the uglyness factor.
