There will be a general price increase later in the week. I will announce this in another thread later today or tomorrow so that everyone gets the scoop.
See, I told you he would come to his senses ... but he did warn us with plenty of lead time (ha ha, I meant lead time).
Actually, the contracted alloy bought last year is indeed all gone
All gone already? Oh my, you HAVE been busy!!!
So because we haven't raised our prices yet and have been absorbing that impact, we're taking it in the shorts.
You are a better man than I - now I feel guilty about my 10K bullet orders. To make it up, I will place my next order without using the THR discount code.
I'm looking at $2.50 more per box for bullets weighing under 200 grains and $3.00 for those at 200 grains and up. I know that this increase doesn't cover the additional cost, but I am trying to tune some other things in the cost equation to bring it to a wash for us, like attritioning-out a full-time day caster position.
You are not the only bullet casting business that must either absorb the higher raw material prices or increase the product prices. We have seen the bullet prices steadily climb in recent years and reloaders have made adjustments too (many of us are shooting less jacketed/plated bullets and more lead bullets).
I had a MBC "sample" test shoot at the range yesterday with a couple of reloaders who reload primarily jacketed and plated bullets and they were surprised at the tight headshot and double tap groups - they are now rethinking about shooting lead bullets.
After the shoot, I told them these were just my test loads and not even my final accurate loads - they were floored.
I told them I have not gotten leading in my LW barrels with MBC bullets and we checked the barrels of G22/G27 after the shoot and no leading, just the normal fouling.
Since they were both Glock shooters, I told them 2000-3000 reload savings shooting lead will pay for the Lone Wolf barrel for carefree lead bullet shooting - I think you will have two more customers for your bullets.
Also for those who have lead sliver problem while seating the bullet, I have had zero lead slivers while seating 500 MBC bullets. I got curious and even tried to tilt some of the bullets and still no lead sliver! BTW, these were 9mm 18 BHN 125 small ball using very slight flaring of the case neck. Not sure if I am the only one, but If this trend continues, I am sure gonna like these bullets even more!
