I wanted to see how many members live in my neck of the woods, and I was tossing around the idea of a gathering of some sort. or maybe just a trip to the range or something.
so who's local?
 
Does it count if I went to (and even graduated from) SUNY Brockport? But I moved to S.C. when My mind cleared! Dont miss the long winters and the cool Canadian-spawned breeze!

Well, I was born there, does that count? But now I'm way down south in the land of well... mesquite. If you think Rochester winters are bad, move 40 miles across the lake to Toronto. I never owned long underwear or fur-lined anything till I moved to Canada. At times I do miss Rochesterisms. "Ch-eye-lye", white hot dogs from Schaller's, Nick Tahou's, the RPO playing Aaron Copland's "Rodeo" at EVERY concert series, and the close proximity to Toronto, which gun laws aside, is one of my favorite cities.

A local gun shoot would be great... then head to Pontillo's pizza :D

never been there, the pictures on the website look nice. I live in avon, just south of rochester. I'm a member of two out here, both small but as a general rule nice and private.

I'm from aroudn Hornell, NY. Roughly an hour south of Rochester, 30 to 45 minutes south of Avon down near Dansville. Although currently i'm stuck at Ft. Benning...
 
If the timing is right I would drive two hours to shoot with some like minded folks
 
I'm from springwater, right next to wayland and dansville, 30 minutes north of hornell and about an hour south of rochester, both my folks work in the city, and when I get back stateside I'll be back in the fredonia/ dunkirk area to finish up school.

I live in Victor and work in Elmira.....now thats a commute!

Grew up in the Southern Tier, lived in Rachacha for the past ten years, I get the best of both.

Did I hear someone say range time and then Dinosaur? No? must have been in my head.:)
 
Grew up in Fairport, went to college in Cortland.

a week after I graduated, moved to FL.
No plans on going back ever.
I don't miss going 8 months without seeing the sun!

Grew up in Bergen . Now I live in the city :( . I do most of my shooting at the Outlet gun club . We just have skeet and trap .
 
for the record, I think it was range time then pontillo's.
but who knows? we may go more than once.
so who's in? what's a good time? and we have to find a range that's good for everybody.
 
just out of blatant curiosity, are there any ranges in rochester that rent guns out to people? I see that all the time on this forum, but I haven't found one around here. I wager that would be fun, blasting away with guns I'm not used to seeing every day.
 
I'm in Ontario (NY) and a GCL member.

There's an IDPA match there this Saturday that's open to non-GCL and non-IDPA members .

We also do an IDPA-lite type pistol shoots every Tuesday evening.

Love to get together. Any time is a good time to shoot:)

BTW I don't think you can rent guns in NYS (but I may be mistaken). Nothing in Rochester at least for sure
 
I live in Mendon and am a new member at GCL, but have not shot there yet (got certified at rifle range a couple months ago).
