THR Saved My Life

Well, THR got me more political. It has connected me to a couple of folks in my area I've talked to, one of whom I've punched paper with.

It also has shown me that the gun culture of America is an incredibly deep river. There are all kinds here. People of many different races, backgrounds, educational levels, etc. While there may be some more common threads connecting many of us, that depth gives me hope.

Also, as a few others, THR has convinced me to teach people to shoot. I've several times taken novices, or newbies to the range. It's THR thats responsible for that.

Hearing Loss

SoCalShooter asked about the hearing loss threads.

This thread here is a good place to start.

Post #4, by hso, has links to other threads on hearing protection and hearing loss.

The word I was looking for was "cumulative" not "progressive" (sorry).

Love THR.
It's given me a better understanding of and respect for our fight for 2A rights. With the input of others on the forum, it's kept from making some bad purchases and enabled me to make the most of some guns I have. It's also allowed me to discuss a broad range of gun related subjects that I would never have thought of previously.
Bless THR.

THR has taught me how to appreciate the snub and that there are intellectual/civilized/erudite/pick your label gun owners out there. I'd bumped around on a few forums and encountered alot of low road people that fit the gun owner stereotype especially when it came to political debate and controversial non-gun issues.

Well, there has been some pretty good BS spread on THR. I recall the guy that said that a .30-06 was the bare minimum caliber for Elk because they were armored like rhinos. There was also the guy who said that WD-40 was actually corrosive to metal. Both good examples of internet BS. However, I can't even begin to count the truthful, instructive and just plain interesting things I have learned on this board! I have learned more by far by reading THR than I think I have ever been fooled or misled. Plus, I just think it is fun to be able to read and participate. Hell, one of the basic premises/promises of the internet was to facilitate communication, right? While not perfect, THR is a great place that I visit everyday, and I would honestly be sort of sad if I couldn't come here anymore.
