Thread locker/grip screws

Thought I'd share the discovery of purple Loctite. Put a dab on your grip screws, they stay put, but easily come loose when needed. It is not as strong a thread locker as is the blue.

Fingernail polish has been doing that job for as long as I can remember and it comes with a little brush to apply it.

Blue isn't that bad. Red should be avoided unless you want to discover you did make a semi permanent decision.

Nice to hear they have made another level of sticky, despite an engineer's best efforts his choice of threading and the production line, plus accountants who won't buy new taps, can void his best recommendation. We still have to live with the results.

I recall a thread on Sigforum which discussed how a dab of regular grease was effective as well.
