I finally found a brake for my mil. surp...It has no lock pin to secure it .I want to know if there is a certain ft/lbs i should torque to or if i should use loc-tite to keep it from loosening..I do not want to ruin it, or more importantly, ME, if it comes loose while shooting...Aprecciate any help

What kind of rifle?

A crush washer might be the easiest method, and pretty much required if you have slots that need to be aligned in any way.

With that you just tighten until the washer begins to be crushed, then tighten until whatever you are trying to align is indexed.

I use a crush washer and a dab of loctite on my rifles that have brakes or flash hiders.

But, it depends on the rifle.

Look at the threading and the rifling. If the bullet spins one way, then the rifle spins the other way, a little. Over and over this little bit will tighten stuff on, iif the threading is going the right way. if it's threaded the wrong way then every time you shoot it will try to twist it off, a bit.

Thanks guys..didnt think about the rifling point...the threads and the rifling are opposite..so im guessing a little loc-tite will suffice. Will just keep an eye on it..Its going on a yugo sks by the way..
