Maybe I'm over/under thinking this, but I'm scratching my head a bit...

I'm nearing completion on my .300 Blk build. I need to add a Suppressed Armament Systems TOMB muzzle brake to the barrel so that I can thread my suppressor over it for future shooting.

Anyway, the brake comes with what I assume is a peel washer. I've never used one of these before, but have read about them and why they're used in place of a crush washer for use with a suppressor.

But, how do I manage to get both the timing of the brake and the torque of the brake coordinated? I mean, it makes sense that adjusting the washer's thickness would allow me to get the timing right. And, it makes sense that using a torque wrench would allow me to add the 40 ft-lbs+ of torque that I was told to use on this brake. I just don't understand how you coordinate the correct torque with the correct timing, using a peel washer.

Do I just put it on, torque it to 40 lbs, then see if it's lined up before I peel layers from the washer? Or, should I time it close by removing layers of the washer, then torque it to spec once I'm close?

Thanks, Kanook.

While I've got an SAS Arbiter suppressor, I must say that I've got a lot of respect for Thunderbeast products, too. A number of guys I shoot with run these cans, and they've had good luck with them.
