Just came up with a Smith & Wesson un-plastic tri-fecta: 2 in 9mm and one in 38sw.
I was doing some serious searching for one if my "bucket list" guns, struck out, but found three consolation prizes that are real winners.
I've been wanting a Smith 3906 or 3904 for a year or three. And while looking 'round for it, I found a Chief's Special in 9mm (CS9) on the web; a 38/32 Terrier (38sw on I frame) from the S&W forum board and a 3953 ex Newark (NJ) police gun on the local arms list all for affordable for me prices.
The CS9 is now one of my carry guns. Fits my hand just right, I can shoot it well, and it'll feed acorns and charcoal brickettes if you can stuff them in the mag.
The 38 Terrier is a post-war, pre-model 32, and I've been looking for a companion for my 38/200 British Service pistol and S&W Perfected.
In my search for a Gen. 3 Smith single-stack (the so far elusive 3906) the DAO flavor of the 3913 came up and the price was hot. Bingo, I bit.
Anyone with experience with any of these, please chime in...share your opinions.
