On my Bushmaster with carry handle I have the rail that is held in place by a thumb screw from the bottom. I don't want to carry a pair of pliers to have to keep it tight nor do I want to use lock tight either unless there is no other way. Yesterday after firing around 250-300 22cal LR using the CMMG adapter, I noticed that my scope was starting to wander, iron sights still dead on and found the thumb screw was loose. A star type lock washer might work but don't want to mar the finish on the AR either. Any ideas other that the typical redneck repair "Duct Tape"

Might try a leather washer, or rubber o-ring.

Maybe enough "stick" to keep it from loosening without marring the finish.

If that doen't work.
Get a tube of rubber cement and put it on both sides of the leather washer.
Let it just start to tack, then tighten it.

I GayRonTeeYa it won't work loose again, unless you want it to.

Threadlocker, but the NON permanent stuff.
I use a tiny bottle I picked up at a hobby store for RC cars/aircraft, etc. Cost about $2 and I've got enough to last for years.

You might try to put a piece or two of monofilament fishing line in the fastener to create a poor man's Nylock.

My rear sight did the same thing (it has the same thumb screws as yours). Channel locks and red locktight. She is not going anywhere now. I second red locktight.
